Tritan is a copolyester developed by Eastman Chemical Company and marketed since 2007. It is a transparent, lightweight and durable plastic material offering excellent resistance to impact and heat. What distinguishes Tritan from other traditional plastics is its total absence of Bisphenol A or BPA.
BPA is a chemical substance often used in the manufacture of various types of plastic, but it has been linked to a number of potential problems for human health. Due to concerns about its possible harmful effects on our bodies, the use of BPA in certain products such as food containers has been regulated or even banned in several countries.
